High-Quality European Agricultural Products

The European Union has established strict quality standards for agricultural production to ensure the safety and quality of food produced in its member states. These standards aim to protect public health, promote sustainable agricultural practices, and maintain consumer trust in the supply of food produced within the EU.

European agriculture is globally recognized for its commitment to quality and sustainability. European farmers, policymakers, and consumers place great emphasis on sustainable agricultural practices, environmental protection, and the production of high-quality food. Key reasons include adherence to strict regulations and standards, the establishment of Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) and Protected Geographical Indication (PGI), the adoption of organic and sustainable practices, the promotion of research and innovation, and raising consumer awareness regarding environmental protection and the social impacts of their food choices.

Integrated Crop Management

Producers apply modern methods combining biological and technological practices to reduce the use of chemicals, maintain soil fertility, and improve fruit quality. Integrated management relies on continuous monitoring and the use of precise environmental data, adapting cultivation practices to the climatic and soil conditions of Velvento, in accordance with European standards and certifications.

Specific Agricultural Techniques

These include careful pruning, drip irrigation to conserve water, the use of natural predators to combat diseases, and the strict selection of varieties suited to the microclimate. These techniques highlight traditional knowledge combined with modern technology, ensuring the production of high-quality, safe fruits that are environmentally friendly.

Strict Quality Control

Production strictly follows certification standards (GlobalG.A.P., AGRO 2.1 & 2.2), ensuring that the fruits are free from pesticide residues and meet high-quality standards. Quality control is carried out at all stages, from cultivation to harvesting and packaging, with continuous analysis and documentation to guarantee the safety and quality of the products.

Hand-Picked Harvesting & Sorting

The fruits are hand-picked at their optimal ripeness, preserving their taste and quality. Sorting takes place in the cooperative’s state-of-the-art facilities, where the fruits are classified according to size, color, and ripeness, ensuring standardization and uniformity of the final product for the market.
